海洋的喧鬧是寂靜的房間——日本創作組合目[mé]《Contact》

日本創作組合目[mé]於2013年由荒神明香（Haruka Kojin）、南川憲二（Kenji Minamigawa）、増井宏文（Hirofumi Masui）成立，於2019年第六屆六本木交叉路口特展（Roppongi Crossing series of exhibitions）中，創作出一件令人為之驚嘆的作品——《Contact》。
Japanese art collective Mé has realized a large-scale installation of choppy ocean water, titled ‘Contact’, as part of the Mori Art Museum’s sixth iteration of their Roppongi Crossing series of exhibitions. 

六本木交叉路口特展由東京森美術館（Mori Museum）策展，於2004年開辦，三年一次，展覽內容網羅日本當代藝術優秀藝術家及作品。2019年的展覽名題為〈Connexions〉，邀請到25位出生於1970-1980年間的青年創作者，以藝術為媒介，展示其對於快速變化的當代社會的焦慮與應對，亦以一個更加微觀的角度，深入觀察日本當代藝術的多元與發展。

這件超現實的作品將張狂的海禁錮在一間狹小的房間中，洶湧與波濤凍結。後方的窗讓陽光照進空間，隨著時間的變化房間中的亦閃鑠著粼粼波光，彷彿海浪韻律的起伏著。觀者從不同的角度觀看也能感受到不一樣的情緒。藝術家再一次採訪中說到，他們希望能操控物理世界中的知覺與感官，並藉由作品來刺激「固有世間中的不真實與不確定感」。《Contact》極其精準的捕捉到了這一點：在靜止與流動之間，海洋的脆弱與力量搖擺不定，展現出了海洋喧鬧又寂靜的本質。透過這件作品，目[mé]確實讓我們把注意力放到了自然的不確定性，進而思考一些更深層本質問題，以及地球的未來。

The hyper-realistic artwork suspends stormy ocean swell within the confines of a small room. A window behind the work lets natural light flood in, and as the sun moves throughout the day, the ripples appear to slightly shift in form. Consequently, the piece plays on the viewer’s perception, glistening from different angles. A statement by the collective explains that the trio work with themes that “manipulate perceptions of the physical world”, whereby their installations aim to “provoke awareness of the inherent unreliability and uncertainty in the world around us”. ‘Contact’ demonstrates just this: the ocean’s oscillating balance of power and fragility. By capturing the tumultuous nature of ocean currents in such acute detail, Mé indeed brings our attention to the uncertain future of Earth’s oceanic waters.
