This is an interior design of an office in the financial information development center, mainly used as a “cloud development base.” Its purpose is to specialize in training personnel in cloud technology. The owner desires a simple, bright, warm, and relaxing office space that allows people to concentrate on development. The team aims to create an office space that is “quality, comfortable, and humanized”, from the planning of the site layout to the presentation of the aesthetic form, accommodating the various working styles of colleagues.
To promote effective communication among team members, whether working in the office or factory testing areas, several measures have been implemented. A large, open discussion forum has been planned to provide ample space for sharing thoughts and ideas. Additionally, small and medium-sized meeting rooms are available for more focused discussions or presentations. To minimize distractions, a refreshment area has been set up on the left side of the entrance for everyone’s convenience. This area offers a comfortable and relaxing space to take a break and recharge. Moreover, discussion forums and whiteboard walls have been set up in both areas to encourage staff discussions at any time. These resources are available for everyone and provide an excellent opportunity to share thoughts and ideas with colleagues. Overall, these measures aim to ensure everyone feels comfortable, safe, and able to contribute to the team’s success.
Located in the bustling Kaohsiung Multifunctional Commerce and Trade Park in Taiwan, this project boasts a strategic location in close proximity to the Kaohsiung Port. The Information Development Center serves as a vital hub for corporate data streams, efficiently transporting a multitude of data packets to various locations. The design team carefully integrated four distinct elements of the local region – the imposing city skyline, the bustling harbor, the ubiquitous container, and the vast expanse of sea and land – into the design, creating a cohesive and dynamic visual identity. To further enhance the office space, a striking three-dimensional corporate logo was added, infusing the workplace with a vibrant sense of vitality and appeal.
Upon entering the room, one will immediately notice the three-dimensional geometric tree at the entrance, which is the corporate logo of the team known as “Big Tree”. The tree is made up of triangular folding panels of different sizes. The wooden PVC flooring depicts the image of land, symbolizing the company’s strong roots and global expansion. A gradient geometric triangle patterned carpet is used to create the visual effect of waves and ripples, achieved by a transformation of dark and light colors, mimicking the ocean. Some walls and the refreshment bar have a design inspired by port containers, which blend well with the city skyline, creating a harmonious indoor and outdoor scenery. Cloud-shaped three-dimensional folding panels are used on the office corridor ceiling, adding a sense of depth to the space while reducing the clutter of pipes. The design is flexible and allows for sliding doors to define the space. This increases the use of space and prevents the situation of idle space. In the small open forum, tables and chairs are designed with the concept of stacking to achieve both functional and storage effects while adding an interesting touch. The office area for colleagues is located on the inner side of the space by the curved window, which is not easy to use. To make the area more appealing, the team used small house shapes combined with the window view to create a window-side forum, making the atmosphere of the forum more welcoming and comfortable.
The dedicated design team has taken a range of measures to establish an eco-friendly and sustainable office environment. One notable step was the installation of LED energy-saving lighting, which has been configured to operate independently in different office areas. This allows users to customize their lighting sources based on their specific needs while minimizing overall energy consumption and reducing carbon emissions. Furthermore, the team selected building materials that minimize air pollution associated with construction, adhering to the Green Building Materials Environmental Label. This approach includes the use of environmentally friendly flooring materials, which are effortless to maintain and create a healthy workspace for all.
